Survey on Milk Preference. A preliminary Report

The likeness level for camel milk is increasing and the people from non-traditional camel backgrounds are admiring camel milk as a supper dairy product and a natural pharmacy. This trend is going up and gives a very clear prediction of high demands for the camel milk in the near future.

Different people, societies, and age groups of people have different choices for different types of milk. Some like cow milk but the others like goat, ewe, cow or buffalo milk. I used a survey to know the preference of the people for milk. There were only 4 options on Linkedin and Twitter for voting. I asked for voting on 4 species’ milk, i.e. Cow, camel, buffalo, and goat.

A camel farmer in Africa pouring the white gold of the desert in a can.

Just as preliminary findings, I share some important points from the LinkedIn survey, where 145 people voted in one day with the top priority was the cow milk (42%), followed by buffalo milk (27%) and camel milk (23%) and the last was the goat milk (8%). The survey is for a week period both on Linkedin and Twitter.

It means there is very good awareness and preference level for the camel milk as it was considered a very traditional milk for northwest & horn of Africa and Arabian peninsula. Many participants from Europe, USA and Australia voted for camel milk. It is really a very appealing and pleasant trend.

Conclusion

The likeness level for camel milk is increasing and the people from non-traditional camel backgrounds are admiring camel milk as a supper dairy product and a natural pharmacy. This trend is going up and gives a very clear prediction of high demands for the camel milk in the near future.

I ask you to please participate in the survey

Camel Milk Works When Other Types of Milks are Intolerant to the Gut

A mom managed her kid’s gut problem with the camel milk

As an organizer of the camel milk advocay international group, CAMEL4LIFE, I receive very good information and updates from the people who share their camel milk stories. I share the stories time to time here in my camel4milk blog, but hide the names of the storytellers for privace. Here is a message from such person, who shared her story here with us.

The camel ecosystem, Halloxylon plants and the bowl full of camel milk in Kharan Desert of Balochistan

“Hi everyone. I’ve been added to the group due to my son who has a cow milk protein allergy and severe eczema since receiving his infant immunizations. He was severely behind on his weight and height and has itchy infected skin which profoundly impacted his functioning, sleep, socializing, schooling etc.”

We did a GAPS diet, and detoxed with cilantro and chlorella and added camels milk to his diet.

Conclusion

And he’s now a thriving 7 year old. Great improvements to his skin, growth and functioning. He still drinks camel milk, as there is very very little cross reactivity between cow and camel milk and I feel it helped him to grow when most of what he was eating was causing bloatedness and diarrhea..

Camel Milk is Trending in New Horizon

As I told in many articles before, that camel is making its space beyond their original habitats of the drylands. New camel milk/farm facilities are emerging in different parts of the world. The people in the US, Australia, South Africa, Europe and now China are taking interest in camels, especially the milk. https://camel4milk.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/camel-journey-from-its-original-habitat-to-modern-world/

As an interesting fact and example to support my statement, I hereby share the article regarding a new camel dairy in the Indiana state of the USA. They use the camel is a farm diversification agent, a riding beast and now the milk. The link of the article is provided in ensuing line.https://www.inputfortwayne.com/features/camel-milk-farm.aspx

Luke and Amber, along with daughter Priya, 4, and son Lance, 3, own and operate River Jordan Camel Dairy outside of Milford, Ind., in Kosciusko County.

“There are a lot of different ways to have a hobby farm, and we went with the camels because they give us so much versatility,” Luke says. “Our main thought is being able to spend time with family and the kids and have them grow up on a farm. It allows us to fulfill a niche that not very many other people are filling.”

CaM~A Desert Gift Healing the Diabetic Patients

CaM is an appealing word for the diabetic patients which stands for the Camel Milk. There is a continuous discussion among the scientists, health practitioners, patients and other people, if the CaM is a healing agent in reality or just a myth. https://camel4milk.wordpress.com/category/diabetes/

Here is general article, written by a natural healer and nutritionist (PhD), a professor (associate) in Ahvaz university, which can be the question of the complicated questions asked by the different stakeholders.https://camel4milk.wordpress.com/tag/insulin/

If camel milk can be effective on diabetes?

Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease that consequently caused to cardiovascular diseases, kidney and liver failure. Nowadays, the researchers following other suitable alternative treatments for insulin.

Camel milk contains insulin like proteins (about 52 U/L insulin), which does not form coagulum in the acidic media of stomach transfer insulin to circulatory system in the diabetic patients that can be an effective alternative for insulin in diabetes patients causes to reduce blood sugar and required insulin dose (about 60%).

How camel milk can control diabetes?

Obviously, camel milk effects including; effect on insulin receptor function and glucose transport in the insulin-sensitive tissues; effect on insulin secretion by the pancreatic b-cells, via the survival, growth, and activity of the pancreatic cells.

Also, camel milk influence insulin secretion by effect on the pancreatic beta cells and insulin receptor function in the insulin-sensitive tissues.

If camel milk can heal diabetic wounds?

Delay in wound healing is one of the most serious diabetes issues due to low level of neutrophils. Reduction of oxidative stability and immune response in diabetic patients is another big issue.

The anti-oxidative activity of camel milk whey proteins enhances the proliferation of immune cells and accelerates the wound healing process during diabetes.

How camel milk can improve kidney and liver failures of diabetes?

The camel milk can normalize renal and liver failures in diabetic patients.

Decrease in triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL and increase in HDL have been observed by consumption of camel milk.

Hypoglycemia effects of camel milk improved kidney and liver function in Nephropathy, proteinuria and cardiovascular challenge appear to be major complications in type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus

Using of camel milk (500 ml/day) by type 1 diabetes patients for six months, improve microalbuminuria levels in diabetic patients

Conclusion

Therefore, camel milk administration can have positive effects on glycemic control,by reducing fasting blood sugar, insulin resistance, and improving lipid profiles in diabetes patients. In most studies, the recommended dose of camel milk was 500 mL/day which led to improvement of diabetes markers after 3 months in diabetes patients. Also camel milk can prevent liver and kidney failures derived from diabetes mellitus and improve wound healing.

Camel Milk Is Rich With Special and Healthier Fats

Milking a Fashoosh camel at the world camel day 2019

The camel milk is different from other milks. It is unique from many points but here, I shall share something about the fats of the camel milk (CaM). First of all, I would like to that CaM fats have shorter molecular size, which is homogenized in the milk and highly digestible. The following table shows the fats molecules length compared to other species milk.

Also, the CaM fatty acids are special and very healthy for heart and vascular system. The camel milk is rich with long chain unsaturated fatty acids and Omega and CLA.

Camel Milk is Rich with Anti-inflammatory Agents

Camel milk is widely used for its reported anti-diabetic and health promoting effects. Lipids derived from the milk have also been shown to exhibit potent anti-inflammatory effects. The mechanism through which these lipids and constituent fatty acids exert these effects remains elusive. images (5)

This paper demonstrates the ability of camel milk lipids to regulate gBSA-induced macrophage inflammation in vitro, by modulating the expression of key inflammatory regulators such NF-kB and NLRP3 inflammasome subunit.

“Results: Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis found that TL was 96% triacylglycerol (TAG) while the TFA comprised 65% saturated and 35% unsaturated fatty acids. Both TL and TFA significantly (p<0.05) decreased gBSA-induced secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines (Tumour necrosis factor-(TNF)-α, Interleukin-(IL)-1β/18). TL also demonstrated the ability to regulate the expression of p50/p65 sub-units of Nuclear Factor-kappa B (NF-κB), while concomitantly increasing the expression of regulatory cytokines IL-10, IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1Ra) and Cluster of Differentiation 163 (CD163)-shifting cells towards an M2 macrophage phenotype. Additionally, we found that TL significantly regulated the expression of Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain containing-3 (NLRP3) inflammasome subunit and its regulator; Ten-Eleven Translocation-2 (TET-2).”451b4a095abcc0a9ff95ce9ec9578609
